Senior Pastor
Rick has been at Briarwood since November, 2005. He and Laura have two grown married children (Dawn and Ben) and one grandchild (Sam). Rick plays the guitar and loves the outdoors. He also enjoys a wide range of music.

Michael Ricks
Student Pastor
Mike is too old to be in school, so he pretends to be young by hanging out with students - middle school, high school and college. Mike has enjoyed 17 years at Briarwood, first, as a part-time youth pastor and for the last 14 years as Associate Pastor with primary responsibilities for students, although, he has shown up at a JOY Club luncheon or two. Matthew Swain Worship Pastor
Matt is brand new to Briarwood and to marriage. He married the lovely and talented Angela Starnes on July the 14th. Really, choosing your life’s partner shadows the fact that he started serving with us in May of '07, but for us that was a big thing as well.
Matt likes all music and desires for all of us to worship with a sincere and full heart.

Doug Ard Administrative Assistant
Doug and his wife Mary have two sons, Trevor and Ryan. He attends Briarwood Baptist Church and likes all types of music. He also enjoys watching his son, Ryan, play high school football.

 Wendy Fletcher Business Administrator
Wendy is our most recent staff addition. She holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia and has a background in banking and insurance as well as previous experience as an Administrative Assistant for a sister church. She enjoys reading and spending time with her children as they participate in their various sports activities.
